Inspired by Relief
The ራህዋ :: Relief candle conjures a light, crisp and clean fragrance through its patchouli basenote. Patchouli offers a musky, herbaceous scent leading into the fresh Ginger heartnote. Ginger invites a warm and spicy imiddle to this fragrance, centering it in an oil that is indigenous to South and Southeast Asia (India, Nepal, China, Indonesia, Fiji) and Africa (Ethiopia, Nigeria).
Ginger oil supports nausea and reduces inflammation; which is why this candle is called “Relief”. The fresh, citrusy lemongrass topnote gives this candle a lemony hint blending seamlessly with the patchouli and ginger.
Inspired by the feeling of fresh air in the Atlas mountains of Morocco and the Monserrate in Bogota, Colombia, ራህዋ invokes a feeling of cleanliness, purity and lightness of being after a long trek to the top. The feeling of relief is an antidote to the heaviness of mind and body.
In Ayurveda (Sanskrit: आयुर्वेद), the ancient “air” or “ether” energy is referred to as Vata and it governs movement and impulse, creativity and connection. When Vata is balanced, it enables us to experience joy, agility and expansive consciousness. This candle was designed with those moments in mind: coming home after a busy day to unwind; completing a hike; stretching, painting or writing poetry are all ways we find relief.
